Narendra Basnet is a distinguished London-based Nepali journalist, media activist, and lyricist. Currently serving as the Senior Vice President of the Federation of Nepali Journalists UK (FNJ UK), he has been a prominent voice in European diaspora journalism for decades.
His journalism career started in Hong Kong in 1997, where he extensively reported on community welfare and migration issues. In December 2006, he relocated to the United Kingdom, establishing strong media ties with major news outlets including Ratopati, Gurkha Radio, and Nepali Link.
Beyond investigative journalism, Narendra is an accomplished song writer. He penned the anthem ‘Hami Patrakar’ (Dedicated to journalists worldwide) and the festive Teej hit ‘Chhamma Chhamma Nachaula’, blending artistic expression with societal commentary.
